So Young Magazine

Shortlisted and awarded 6th place in the So Young Magazine competition, 2019. The brief was to illustrate a song or artist from a list of bands previously featured in the magazine.

Many bands are defined by their frontman, as is the case with Pulp and the iconic dance moves of Jarvis Cocker. Each pose can be seen in their 1995 Glastonbury headline show, which was a pivotal moment for the band.

Colours and typography were inspired by their first successful album, His ‘n’ Hers, pictured below.

I wanted to convey a strong sense of motion, as well as the fun festival atmosphere and nostalgia of the ‘90s, which is why I used a linear style and punchy blocks of colour.
